My Preparation for the MS Charity Bike Ride

I have four friends affected by MS and when I learned that there is a fundraising MS bike ride, I signed up immediately. I decided on the 60 mile, hilly Route 9 as I love to challenge myself.

My only concern was my 28 year-old bike could it handle the hills?

My concerns were soon over. I was at Toga bike store in Nyack talking to the owner and the staff about my upcoming MS bike ride. I have had a good relationship with this store for a few years, supporting me with my 120-mile breast cancer run across Long Island. This time, they stopped my bike worries and donated a demo bike (27 gears) for my MS fundraising ride. The bike was adjusted to my height, and I was able to take the bike for a test ride. I conquered the big hill between North Nyack and Rockland Lake without a problem. In comparison to my old bike, it seemed like this bike from Toga rode by itself... what a difference in the technology! Now, I know that I can complete the MS 60 mile bike ride; the hills on Route 9 are no longer my nightmare.

Thank you Toga!
